Nacho Dean

“The true challenge of humanity is to find balance between our development and the environment we live in.”

Nacho Dean is a renowned adventurer. He is the first and only person in history to have both walked around the world and swum between all five continents (fewer people have been to the Moon):

From 2013 to 2016, he completed a world walk expedition called EarthWideWalk, during which he spent 3 years walking across 4 continents, 31 countries, and 33,000 kilometers—alone and unassisted—in defense of the environment.

Between 2018 and 2019, he completed the Nemo Expedition, a challenge in which he swam between the 5 continents to raise awareness for ocean conservation.

Author of two books, Libre y Salvaje and La llamada del océano, published by Planeta, he has delivered over 150 international talks and has been featured in countless interviews and media reports.

When you feel like giving up, remember why you started—and that if someone can do it, it’s you.

Libre y Salvaje: la gran aventura de la vuelta al mundo a pie

Written in Spanish

Over three years, he crossed 31 countries across 4 continents, covering 33,000 km on foot Nacho Dean became the first Spaniard to walk around the world—alone, unassisted, and non-stop. His journey was filled with danger, wonder, and personal discovery—from surviving a terrorist attack and wild animal encounters to moments of deep solitude and connection. More than an adventure, it was a tribute to life, freedom, and the power of pursuing a dream—proof that with small steps, you can go very far.

La Llamada del Océano

Written in English

In his latest adventure, Nacho Dean—already the first Spaniard to walk around the world—takes on a new challenge: swimming between all five continents to raise awareness about ocean conservation. In Expedición Nemo, he reflects on the urgent need to protect our blue planet, sharing the lessons he learned after swimming 2,500 km in a bold tribute to the sea. Blending epic storytelling with reflections on leadership, resilience, and personal growth, this book is both an adventure and a call to action for the world’s forgotten oceans.
