Daniel Medina

Daniel Medina is co-founder of Area101, a company which mission is to impact the planet and people through innovation and sustainability. He is also professor on corporate innovation, business design, and culture transformation in several universities and business schools such as ESIC, Istituto Europeo di Design and IE University, where he obtained the IE Academic Excellence Award two years in a row.

In the past he has served as director of strategy and innovation at Opinno, Madrid; strategy consultant at Stance, Paris; digital specialist at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), Barcelona; technology specialist at Microsoft, Caracas, and was the founder of two digital startups in Spain and Latin America.

Additionally, he is a computer engineer, has two masters in Project Management and European Business, and has traveled the world working on innovation projects.

Throughout his career, he has worked and lived in six countries, helping large and medium size organizations in launching and accelerating their businesses through design, innovation, agility, technology, customer service and cultural transformation.

Cristina Ull is co-founder of Area101, a community that brings together more than 200 innovation managers to promote new models of collaboration to accelerate corporate innovation.

He is also founding partner of Unitea Capital, an investment vehicle driven by more than 35 profiles of the Spanish innovation ecosystem that invests in startups in pre-seed and seed stages in the future in sectors such as food, health, education, mobility and work.

Moreover, he is a mentor for global innovation platforms such as 500 Global (US), Relab (UK), EIT Food (Spain), African Business Heroes of the Alibaba Foundation (South Africa) or the Startup Lab of IE Business School, as well as professor in corporate innovation and change management for UC Berkeley Extension.

He has a Bacherlor’s Degree in Industrial Organization Engineering from the Polytechnic University and Kochi University Tech in Japan, and holds an MBA from EDEM Business School.
