Masaaki is an IE alumni and collaborator, a versatile conceptual artist formed in finances and martial arts. He is also author and lecturer who has been included in the Thinking Heads “Top 100 lecturers in Spain” catalogue. He also works as a consultor in Erretres Strategic Design Company and is part from the investigation team in the Keio University Graduate School of Media Design.

In 2018, he created the biggest calligraphy piece in Europe (1926 m²). He has exhibited his works in more than 40 countries worldwide.

For Masaaki, creativity is as simple as connecting a cloud of points, each point will connect in a different way, however, eventually, we tend to lose flexibility and to create connection patterns. To encourage imagination, we need to break these patterns in order to reinvent ourselves. Many times, inspiration comes from the most ordinary things, we only need to pay attention to our environment.

The key is not to look for inspiration, but to change your way of looking at the world. Your mind does not reflect reality. Reality reflects your mind. If you change your mind, reality will change too.

Souzou

Written in Spanish

The beauty of imagination resides in the fact of being able to think something that does not exist yet. Therefore, if it does not exist, there is not any existing standard to evaluate what we have imagined. We should allow ourselves the power of imagining it.

The Souzou method joins two aspects of the human nature: imagination and creation. From here, the model rests on three pillars: mind, strategy and action.

The book is an alternative solution that compete with the conventional processes to democratize the capability of developing our ideas.
